Whats the IAC? Idle air control right? The valve that keeps the car idling? Don't think that would cause the engine the cut on and off while accelerating, or even driving normally it will do that. I changed that anyways, same deal. Gotta be a wiring issue, or two bad coilpacks i have, or maybe a bad fuel injector. Would it cause the check engine to flash on quickly when it happens?

I get no codes of any sort engine off or running.

1. recheck all grounds in engine bay.
2. verify connector to pcm is clean and tight.
3. swap in a known good pcm.
4. report results.

maybe its a bad ignition switch. do you have a spare steering column to swap?

I have switched out the steering column cause I broke a key in it several years ago from a lincoln cont. Could be! I can get out from a junkyard. A 90-95 from any taurus will work right?

Ok, I ruled out today its not a spark issue. So def a fuel issue. I didn't think to do this before, but today I connected a timing light under to hood to a wire and ran it into the door next to seat. I drove it with timing light on. Lights as usual. When car started sputtering, stays lighted like normal. Tried from a wire from all 3 coils. Each lite like normal, even when car sputtered. Plus car is getting really bad now from that.

Has to be fuel, changed fuel pump, press reg, and filter, I'm at a loss now as to what it could be. Don't think its the injectors, cause it seems to sputter as a whole, not as in one inj going bad.

Took out fuel injectors, changed them out. Checked all grounds. Blew out all fuel lines, none seems clogged. Checked a few other things. Connected a test light to the red wire that powers all the fuel inj and idle air and such like that. Stays lite, car still drives the same. I can't find any spark issues, any fuel issues. I have no idea at all what it is. I'm pretty much done with it and about to just part it out and sell all the good stuff in it.

It may be even something worse then I think like sticking valves or an impossible to find wiring problem.
