i just swapped a 93 engine into my 89. I couldn't get it to run, so i switched everything but the crank sensor over from the 89 engine. I even went as far as to put another wiring harness (engine and engine bay) into the car. My problem is this: the car will only run when the cam sensor is unplugged, and even then it's on "limp" mode. as soon as the cam sensor is plugged in, the car dies. I've been working on this thing for an entire week straight and i cannot figure out what the problem is. I'm just about at the end of my rope here and i have no more ideas. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Is there anything that i haven't checked?

What computer do you have in the car? A B9B or a X2J? What was the condition of the 93 engine prior to installation? Did it have any running problems before?

Just as a long shot try switching over the X2J computer from the 93 and throw it in the car. If you have the part available it couldn't hurt to try it.
