First red flag is that the performance is rated in crank (flywheel) hp and tq. That can only be measured by removing the engine from the vehicle. The problem with that is there is no external control system for the EcoBoost platform. So my first question would be how did they measure that? If you look at every single reputable vendor on any forum or website power is always rated as wheel hp and wheel tq. Because, their test vehicle(s) were measure on an actual chassis dyno. The important things like drivetrain loss and environmental factors like heat and humidity are factored in. We have been tuning the EcoBoost platform since 2009, and have not ever once marketed a product using crank power. Because there is no accurate way to measure that, especially on an EcoBoost vehicle, without removing the entire engine, ECU and other control modules
from the vehicle that the engine belongs to.
You can estimate what a vehicle produces at its crank by looking at the marketed power numbers from the car manufacturers VS what the vehicle actually made on a chassis dyno. For example, the SHO is advertised and marketed by Ford as having 365HP and it does...at the crank and on 93 octane fuel. BUT, on a chassis dyno it will make between 275 and 285
wheel hp (WHP). That is a difference of about 75HP. So just from doing some quick and easy math you can
estimate that a tuned SHO that now makes 355-375 WHP is now making an ESTIMATED 440 crank HP. But that is just that...and estimate...a guess. There is no science in what I just did...I made and educated estimation based on the advertised stock crank power VS what it makes on a chassis dyno.
If you would like another example of where a vendor was marketing their tuning using crank HP and TQ look at these threads:

In these threads, the vendors are almost immediately bashed for their product not doing what it was advertised or marketed to do. Successful and reputable tuning heavy vendors like Livernois Motorsports and Unleashed Tuning (Torrie) are so reputable and respected because their parts do exactly what they are represented to do. There are no "creative" marketing tactics...just facts. That is why you see the vast majority of the forum members using Livernois and Unleashed products.

Sorry, the post just did not feel complete without a science bomb!
