Steering Woes...literally!

Has anyone else experienced steering issues when going hard into a corner.Sweeps are no problem but I like to hit my street fast and its a 90 degree turn. When i try to go into it my steering tightens like the pump is at too low of rpm to assist enough.Mainly b/c i brake going into the turn and gas out of it. Is there any way to cure this or do you just have to 2 foot it to keep rpms up? More than if there is a cure im wondering if anyone else has this issue.

I have the same issue on my '95 MTX and '94 ATX.

It does not seem to occur with the '91's which don't have VAPS.
