For a lack of a better term, I am getting steering wheel wobble where it goes back and forth about a quarter of an inch while going down the road. It doesn't cause the car to turn. The alignment is off a little bit as if I let go of the steering wheel I go to the right a bit. I replace the endlinks, outer tie rods, and one endlink in the rear. Before I did this I had to have the steering wheel turned to the right a little bit to go straight, now with the steering wheel straight I go straight so the car suspension is improving.

What would be causing the wobble? I plan to change the steel rims back to the stock aluminum. One of the front tires seems to have a little dip in the center of the tread so guessing bad tire.

Sure glad I rescued this SHO though... I am "Sho Loving It" ... it was there, had to!!!

Sounds like you might have answered your own question.

  • Get tires balanced and checked
  • Replace bad tires
  • Get car aligned
  • Keep up on rotate and balances
  • Keep car aligned

Just how I go about it.

...could be strut rod bushings, ball joints, strut mounts, subframe bushings, CV joints, wheel bearings, ect.

Is the steering wheel moving while you drive? Or can you just move it side to side without the wheels turning?

not to thread jack, but mine has play in the steering wheel. almost like a dead zone where I can move the wheel without the front wheels turning.

I have a slight wobble starting near 40, worsening as speeds go up, not tire related though, I've rotated, and problem persists.

I'm considering taking a look at new cv axles. could also be an issue.

Does it wobble during acceleration?

yes, but not during braking, and I can't feel it during constant cruising.
