I live in Tallahassee Florida and my 1989 ford crown victoria Ltd 5.0.. I was coming from the store. And was backing in my driveway when my steering went out.. steering wheel turns but not the wheels.. and I checked power steering fluid it was low to empty so what could be the problem help me please thanks. And how much am I looking at to have it fixed

Sorry, Terrence, but your 89 Crown Vic is not a SHO so we are not experts on that vehicle.

Somewhere between your steering wheel and the front wheels, something has gotten disconnected - the steering shaft, the rack, the tie rods, etc. That is not possible to diagnose over the internet, so it is literally impossible to tell you what it costs to fix.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the crown vic shares in common with the Taurus, however I'd check the linkage and make sure that is moving. Since you were out of fluid in your reservoir, you probably blew a seal on the rack.
