I was looking to rice up my car a bit and take the silver plastic piece that surrounds the buttons etc. on the steering wheel and wrap it in carbon. May be a dumb question but anyone know the easiest way to get it off?

should just pop off with a flathead screw driver, just dont be too rough or youll break the plastic clips

I KNOW* youre going to have to pull the steering wheel off and disasemble it. There are screws in the back that hold it all together.

*edit after looking at my car.

The silver part come off after screws are removed from.the back of the wheel. The air bag has to come out to get to the bolt that holds the wheel on.

Someone painted theirs recently. Not sure if I saw it on the forums or FB. I believe the airbag has to be removed to get it off. Still didn't seem like a that difficult a job.

According to Ford Since the material is made from recycled plastic it should clean up.

They should have never put alcantara on a steering wheel. Too many oils and dirt. Same with seats. Napped material is tough to keep nice with adult weight and friction on seat material. (insert inappropriate comments below)
