steering problem

ok guys i'm picking your brains! The steering has a little plat in it . It feels fine then it gets real loose when turning. What could this be?

Could be a variety of things from tie rods, to your rack and pinion..check your power steering fluid level too...

A little more descriptive information might help with more helpful responses. It's really hard to tell from that description what could be the problem.

run for your lives...the dreaded VAPS

seriously though, if its the variable assist power steering, I feel your pain. I had that removed from my car and I am not missing it one bit, especially when entering and exiting a corner.
