I'm installing inner tierods on my '91, and it seems that the new ones don't thread on as far as the old ones did, am I nuts or is that how the new ones are.

They may be slightly different. I had bought a pair for my car and planned on installing them when i saw that mine were still in really good shape. I ended up giving them to a friend. I'm pretty sure i remember him saying something about that too. It might just be that the new ones have a little more threading on them than the original OEM's...

I would do a 'side by side' comparison..

edit: i also remember him needing a specailty tool to pull & install the new ones.
