Ok I have a few questions... 95 MTX

I just replaced the Cam Position Sensor and the car runs good except it still suffers from hard starts. Almost always starts the second try, sometimes it takes a third. And when I use the A/C it surges horribly and has immense trouble idling and sometimes stalls. Also, I cleaned the IAC thingy and switched the MAF with a known good one.

Is the hard starting and idle related?

Sometimes (when it idles normally) the oil light will flicker. I want to hook up a temporary oil pressure guage, is there any easy place to do this or is the only spot the one on the back of the engine?

My last question is that the clutch pedal is loose. I can lift it up with my toe. The previous owner had Ford put in a clutch last year. What can I do to fix this?

Also where can I get new intake bolts? The 10mm ones. Whoever took the intake off that time really messed them up.

Sorry so long, but any help is appreciated.

EDIT: No codes. Are all the Cam Sensors the same?
My old one part# started E9SE and the new is E9DE. The rest of the number was the same.

To the best of my knowledge, the stock IAC valve in the '95 is not cleanable. I've actually seen carb cleaner make an IAC completely inoperable. You might need a new one. Run the KOER tests and see if you get a 411 or 412 code, this likely means your IAC is not functioning properly.

The erratic idling with the A/C on might indicate a failing A/C pulley bearing or worse a failing compressor. Are you hearing noises from the pulley with/without the compressor running?

I guess my IAC isn't stock then. It is the one that the motor seperates (SP?) from the other housing. Anybody know the part# for the cleanable one?

I haven't noticed any noise from that a/c area. But it does stop working after 10 minutes or so. I was going to take a shim out and see if that helped, worked on my Mom's SHO. We will see after a new IAC.

WIth the engine at OT and idling what should the oil pressure be?

No ideas on the loose clutch pedal/cable?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that if I cycle the key on and off twice it starts on the first try. Sings of a wayward fuel pump?
