Could be. What year is your car? GenI is near the fender and GenII is on the starter.

i got a gen 1. i figured out its not the solenoid. next question guys... theres a plug under ur dash that makes it so u have to push in the clutch to start the car. the other day someone unplugged mine and just jumped it so u dont have to push the clutch in. well i went uder the dash and looked at the wires comin off of it and theres a white with a red stripe that totally burned out. anyone know where it goes to from the plug?

Doesnt matter really , its only a ON/OFF "button" , you can tie those 2 togetther and you will be able to start it without the clutch. BUT it WILL start even if its in gear. Do this only if your 'stuck'.

ok, the wire is the white/pink stripe wire that goes from the male end of the clutch engagment sensor to start the car all the way up the steering column to what i believe is the electrical part of the ignition switch. its completely fried but just that wire, if i just replace that wire will it just happen again? what should i do, thanks for the help

got it fixed 2 days ago, had to run a new wire in place of the old white/pink stripe wire which goes from the clutch engagement sensor to the actual electric part of the ignition. worst part about it was waiting the 3 hrs for weaver to get the electrical connectors from somewhere because they were the ones that have to go into the plastic plugs of multiple wires. problem solved, oh and i got a new vss, huge difference with it, no more stalling when cold or ever, speedo works:) got new plugs and wires in the mail cant wait for them!
