Hey guys-
Went to start up the SHO this morning and there was nothing. All the interior lights, radio and, lights work fine, but it just makes a click and that's it...it won't turn over. It doesn't do the repetitive click as if the battery was dead, just one click. So tonight I cleaned the terminals to see if that was the problem and still nothing. Now tho when i turn it on the tach goes to 500 rpm(did this this morning also) and the fan turns on then shuts off, the digital climatre control blinks afew times and the service engine blinks several times and the air bag light blinks. It also clicks several time...kinda sounds like it's reseting itself...I'm puzzled n why it would do all this if it is just a starter!!! Why would it read rpm's on the tach when the motor isn't going??? Any input wuld be appreciated!!!
I think it may betime for a new SHO-
thanks again-
Dan

How old is the battery? At first I thought that it was the battery (SHO's require a lot of cranking amps to turn over.) The other stuff that you mention, not a clue, maybe the EEC went bye-bye. Sorry could not be any more help.

Guy's the first thing to check for is corrosion. There has to be NO corrosion for this to work. I had the same problem on my 95' and I thought I got all the corrosion off, but I didn't. Go to the auto parts store and get one of the thingamabobbers (technical term :) ) that goes over the terminal and cleans it. Also clean it with some baking Soda (not powder) and you should be in good shape. If your car clicks once and then all the electronics go off, this is most likely the problem.

As far as the Throttle cable goes, find out what it's rubbing against to pick up all that heat. It shouldn't be doing that, but you probably know that. :)
