Wasnt sure if I should post here or in the electronics section but...

My car wont start its what I beleive is the starter solinoid. I plan to dig into this in the morning but, maybe someone here can help me a bit.

I click the key over but nothing happens, I was trying to listen but couldnt hear a click so I plan to test the red/lt blue wire at the starter motor and see if I get 12volt when I turn the key. If I do, am I safe in assuming that it must be a starter problem and is it possible to just replace the solinoid?

Also I have never had any problems with this starter before (other then a bad battery) and then I park for a hour then nothing. Anyone else experence this and so suddonly?

(PS me and a buddy push started the car to get home. Worked cool.) :thumb:

if you tap the starter wth a hammer or something of the like, you will most likely be able to start your car again.

usually the starter is replaced as a whole, not just servicing/rebuilding the solenoid.

Ya just unplug that wire and probe it and ground the other probe and then get someone to turn key, If you get power your solenoid could be bad. You can also cross it over to test the starter.
