would olny recommend tig welding olny dont let others tell you mig will work or anything...

Properly done, MIG will do the job. The problem is that few people and/or shops have the right equipment or know how to do it correctly.

With either process the biggest issue will be selecting the right filler material. The issue with MIG will be that most places will have one, or at best two, grades of wire on hand and won't bother to try to find out which wire they should actually be using, they'll just put one which ever wire is most convenient and use that, which will likely not be the right one.

While I am not disagreeing that TIG is likely best in this case, this statement is not the slightest bit true.

I agree that a good TIG welder is more likely able to weld aluminum properly, it is a completely different material that requires a radically different technique than any of the steels, and unless they have worked with the metal before they will probably be no more capable with it than anyone else.
