I would love to do a SHO meet, but my SHO is a disgrace and doesn't like to make trips that are very far. I know quite a few people with SHO's but they are kids my age (18 or so) and they don't seem that big into modifying them or anything cept some rims and window tint, maybe some neon crap too.

Who cares if your car is crap. We don't. Its all just to have fun and to share a common interest with local people. We'll just ask you nicely to drive in the back if we go anywhere! jk. Hey fricker, good news, Sean decided to keep the blue Gen 1. The downside is, we started taking it apart this past weekend and hes not planning on having it running at all this year.

So is there any one else interested in a meet?

Wait, it's just the end of January. What is he planning on doing to it if he's going to keep it apart for the rest of the year?!! What was the problem anyway? That tranny has a quaife, correct? Did something in the clutch let go?

Keep me posted on what you guys find. Only saw that car once, it sure did look nice.

BTW Rob, you never pm'd or emailed me a mailing address for the SHO videos. Still need them?

The whole car is getting tore apart starting with the back and moving to the front. He"s doing suspension, motor, drivetrain, interior. You name and he is prolly doing it.

And no, he doesn't know what is wrong with the tranny yet. Its something related to every gear, so it could be the quiafe or the clutch. So i guess he'll figure it out when he gets to the front of the car.

As far as the videos go, I want to wait a while to find out for sure when im going to do the clutch and quaife.

When did you get to see the blue sho?

Good to hear from you Electricat. We'll be sure to keep you posted. Spring/summer will be here before too long, so we should try to keep this topic going for awhile and get a time selected for a SHO gathering.

I got to see the blue 91 briefly about a year ago when he was in South County. I'm shocked to hear he's taking it ALL apart. Didn't it have Tokico's and Eibach springs? I'm guessing he's going to install the coil overs he's had on hand? Do keep us posted on his status. That car should be going to the convention this summer.........

Nah, its not going to the convention. There is no chance of that. I think he is keeping the Tokicos and Eibachs, but he sold his coilovers about a month back. The only thing he has left from his major stock pile of parts is the tubular rear control arms I think. Hes taking the car apart so that it will be HIS car and not someone elses project that he now owns.

It will still be the same blue, however i think it will be repainted after a while due to rock chips and some of the original mocha showing through in some spots already.

He has some WILD ideas that he is going to be incorporated that im not gonna tell you about. But i guarantee you this, you will not be disappointed, the car will be like no other and will surely be fast, handle like a Ferrari, and as cool and sexy as the girl of your dreams!

It will really be something

I know this is a little off subject, but does anyone know of a reputable transmission shop or some place that I can get my nice 93 ATX's transmission rebuilt with all upgraded internals and a shift kit? I know someone that got their 93 atx rebuilt at cottman transmissions and it cost them $1700 w/o any upgraded internals. :( I just figure since all of these STL SHO owners are looking, I'd throw it in. :)

I personally have no idea as i have never had an atx, but i would suggest calling around and talking to some of the local tranny shops. Even try getting ahold of Steve Wienrich (projectsho89) bc he is a very good sho mechanic. I dont know how much experience he has with atx's but he might be able to do it.

The cheapest place I have found so far would be Frenchtown Transmissions on 2nd Street in St. Charles. They quoted me a range of 850-1250 depending on which hard parts I need. I want to get a shift kit and all upgraded internals so I don't have to deal with a sloppy 93 transmisson. They rebuilt my parents transmission in their 92 bonneville after it went out, (1995) it cost them 1200 and the transmission never had a problem since then. If we are going to get a SHO meet together, lets throw out some dates and places maybe so we are able to schedule it into our busy lives. :p

Sorry, no experience on the ATX repairs. If you already have a reputable shop to go with that has performed decent rebuilds in the past, sounds like that would be the place to take it. I think most would agree that $850 on the low side sounds fairly reasonable.

Ah, the joys of attempting to schedule a meet. How about shooting for an early spring date? Something along the lines of late March/early April? Say Saturday, March 26th.

Location. This is certainly where we need some input as far as what people want to do. Obviously there are plenty of spots to meet if lunch or dinner is to be part of the gathering. I know in the past we never got around to a group meal but that would certainly be fine with me. Especially if that helps with the turnout. Something like Dave & Busters in Earth City might work well given the facilities for food and games as well as plenty of adjacent parking. I'd certainly recommend a lunch outing there vs. dinner..... Thoughts/suggestions????

I would be down for that. Also, Roy, (1stSHO) will be intown visiting his parents in Licking, MO. Hes coming all the way from Florida. We were going to meet so maybe we could attend this instead. It sounds like it should be alot of fun. Fricker, have you got ahold of that old mailing list?

Yes, I have it in my hotmail account. I'm a little hesitant to use it as it has been a few years. If we can get a few responses and confirm the time/location here on the forum, then I'll send out an email to the old list.

So......anybody else from St. Louis have any input on the proposed time or location? (several PM's sent to the known StL crowd....)

Let's hear from you!

Mike from midwest sho had an ATX tranny for sale in the garage sale section of his site that you might want to take a look at. Most places would charge 200-400 to uninstall and re-install a transmission.

Thanks David, checking that out now. I think that I would have no problem making that meet plus my 93's transmission will be done by then so I won't have a SHO problem getting there. :) Dave and Busters sounds good to me except the fact that I am not supposed to walk around there to play games by myself because I am only 18. I will probally bring my fiance with me also, depends on her schedule for that though.

Just checked the site for the transmission, no longer there, only computers, exhaust, and transmission mounts for the ATX now.

I'm pretty sure the age requirement is only enforced after a certain time of the evening. I seem to recall 8pm or somewhere around then. I'd be shocked if we'd have that problem at lunch time. So far, the few PM's I've received back tend to approve the proposed date/location. Should we take it the next step and throw out a time to further establish this SHO meet?

....crossing fingers, we seem to be getting good response on this one....
