First of all, stop beating on an already broken car. That's a big no no. As for your rubbing sound, is it more of a groaning, or does it sound like rubber on metal? If it's rubber on metal, chances are your strut mounts are shot. Speaking of the struts, the KYB's probably won't last too long with Intrax springs. How long have they been installed on the car?

As for the clunk, there are a few different things that could be. I'd jack up the car and check out your driver's side suspension. Look at your tie rod end (this would be a creaking noise if it were bad), sway bar end link (this would definately give you a clunk if it were broken), and all of your bushings.

not necessarily broken. the nut may have worked loose or the ball and socket dried up and made its own room to play.

aftermarket equivalants are readily available from your local auto parts stores, namely Auto-Zone and O'Riellys.

if the camber plates on the strut towers have been dislocated from their welds (done when obtaining additional positive camber needed on lowered SHOs), then its possible the strut mount is rubbing on the strut tower. i, as well, as a few other with lowered SHOs have this same sound.

other possibilities for the clunk are bad ball joints (only replacable via purchasing new lower control arm), a brake pad land (where the pads rest on the knuckle), loose caliper bolts (T40 socket used), or strut rod bushings have gone away and strut rods now hit against the subframe.

the strut (KYB) and spring (Intrax) combination you have wont have any negative effects on a daily driver. but for rough pavement, aggressive turns, even more aggressive speeds, youll notice ill handling charachteristics. the Intrax are linear rate spring (read - stiff) and the KYBs are "meant" to be factory replacements. but the KYBs fail utterly on the SHO, IMHO. the springs will wear out the strut very quickly. the only struts id recommend with Intrax springs are Tokico or Koni. other members here will differ in opinion.

before i moved to South Texas, i put new struts on my friends Blue92. he had KYBs with Eibachs for less than a year, less than 10K miles. when i removed the KYBs and placed them upside down (strut rod on concrete), i could place one finger on the bottom of the strut and barely push on it before it would start collapsing. there was no life left in the KYBs, except to be used for maybe the Koni inserts, if they could be used.

the strut/spring combination i am running, (and the first to try and succeed) is the Tokico with modified Moog Cargo (control) Coil springs. i drive aggressively and love the twisties. with my setup, i have little body roll. if i were to install subframe connectors, i would have zero body roll, just like SHOMurphs SR-69. NotSoSlowSHO (Kenny) is running modified Moogs on Monroe struts and he loves the ride. i consider Kenny and i to be pioneers in the Moog spring territory for the SHOs. we both did a lot of research and took a risk, and we both came out very pleased.

Ok but seriously folks, the first thought in my head was rear subframe bushings, since it's only when turning...
