engine starts to sputter at about 3,000rpms. I was just reving the motor and this started to happen. I haven't had this car long and it seems like problem after problem. Sometimes i go to sart the car and nothing, give it a few minutes and then it starts up. Sometimes the guage cluster stops working then starts to work. What do i have to do to get the oil out of the spark plug area.

What would this sputtering be? Sometimes when starting it it sounds like a backfire in the intake and it won't start. Give it a few minutes then it will start up and run freat with the exception of the sputtering at 3,000 rpms. what would cause this?

I would guess the oil in the plug wells has deteriorated the wires and they are shorting out? You need to take the valve cover off and put in new plug well seals.

Sounds like the exact problem I just had with my '95 SHO. My car would literally fall on its face at 3,000 RPM and my tach would occasionally go to zero. I assume that's what you mean by gauge cluster not working.
I replaced my Cam Position Sensor and I believe the problem is solved. I say "I believe" because the problem was intermittent, but it has been four days since replacing and I have not had a recurrence.
It's a cheap repair.
