Only think scary about that is running the cars at the track that hard could cause some damage. I managed to break my front motor mount and blow out my exhaust donut while up in dallas a little over a month ago. I sure would hate to break something big while I'm 3 hours away from home.
On the other hand, I might be interested if it's a 1/4 mile drag, I will never take a SHO on another 1/8th mile track.

I can totally understand Martin's reservations, if you will. I felt the same way when I had my Vulcan. However, the SHO was made for having fun. I don't think you should abuse your car by any means, but it's not going to hurt her to do some dragging, even repeatedly. Just make sure you're careful, you baby her (keep her cool, properly running and maintained, etc.) and she'll provide you with many years of fun. Don't be afraid to drag in her.

I dunno, I should bring my reinforced shonut front motor mount and show you guys the holes that were ovaled out by the bolts. I was shocked. The SHO is a great car, but those hard launches are really tough on the FWD setup. If it was a mustang, you could do it all day long, no biggie. But like you pointed out, the reason I own this car and put up with it's temper, is that I get to enjoy it, and boy do I ever enjoy it. I'm still not sure what time I'll be their friday, but I hope to get in some time at RCR.

Yeah, the orientation of the engine for the SHO is an issue when it comes to mounts and drag racing. What'd be nice would be a RWD-mounted engine mated to a FWD tranny, like my brother's Acura Legend is. The engine is a 3.2L Honda V6, mounted in a RWD, longitudal fashion, but mated to a tranny that's looks like the oddest thing you've seen. And it's FWD. Weird, huh?

Probably an automatic too...but then again I think all automatics look weird. the numbers don't count above 2, and there's a 'D' and, my favorite, 'R' for REAL fast :D
