I went to warm my SHO up this morning and after 20 secs of warming up, the engine revved up to 3000rpms by itself. Today at a stop light, the same thing happened again. This has happened in the past but never twice in one day. Sometimes it will occur while I'm in gear and I will accelerate up to 3000rpm. Anyone know what is happening? Thanks

Run the codes. Pay special attention to the KOER test. I will likely give you a code relating to the idle speed control valve.

The throttle position sensor could also be tricking the EEC. Next time it happens, barely touch the throttle to move the butterfly. If this greatly affects the engine behavior, the TPS could be the cause.

Running the codes, as suggested, would also be a good thing to do.
