That red oil light you need to worry about. The speedometer and the oil pressure are not related. If you car is over 100k and you are getting an oil pressure light, change your rod bearings. Do them now, before they do you.

As for the speedo, you can pull the cluster and try to **** the cable. My 93 had an itch noise and a slight vibration that was caused by a dry cable. If that does not work, it is in the speedometer head.

Serious. Check that oil pressure. You most likely need to change those bearings now.

Wousers.......... yea for now just forget the speedo cable dude. If that oil light is flickering you need to fix it before something bad happens. If i remember right that light is triggered when oil pressure gets at or below 5 psi which is much too low. If it were me id get a real gauge on it instead of that dummy light and see what its running and change them regardless. Save her before she becomes another spun bearing death.

I have a 95' MTX and I have a problem with my speedometer. When im driving it goes up and down so I have to average me speed by how much it moves. When I give her **** then she will say Im going a buck 20 or so when I am probably only going around 90. Every once in a great while it will catch and actually show the correct speed. Do I need a new cluster or just to **** my lines.
