I just got my 98 back on the road a month or so ago... I noticed that when I hit about 105-110 (on a track of course), the speedo drops to zero... then when I slow to less than where it drops, it quickly jumps back to that speed... Is this a factory thing to keep people from going that fast or is my stuff on the fritz? :nut:

It's a '98 thing. Happens on all of them. Speculation is it's something in the ABS computer.

OK, thanks... any cure as of yet?
Not that I'm aware of. Glen Murdoch was trying to get a non-'98 ABS computer to work in his, but I don't know that he ever had any luck.

If this helps on the cause/cure, speedo on my 98 drops out 5-10 mph sooner if the cruise is engaged.

Not too sure that there's too many people that need a cure for a speedometer that won't read over 110. :nut:

BTW, you can find a lot of information at www.v8sho.com about the '98 speedometers and many other answers to questions you may have.

LOL wuzzzer!! While this may be true here in the states, I am trying to get stationed in Germany. Oh how they love to go fast over there... I would love to also take this to the track one day, but road courses open to the public are hard to find...
Thanks all!

Ummm.. just so you know the speed limiter, does not work... on the 98 SHO either.. the computer has no idea how fast it going (tested this out, I had my laptop hooked up at said speed). Not that this will do you too much good in the states... but Germany..... could be useful. Though I would put an another trans cooler on the the car if I were you.
