Has anyone received anything from them? I know we got the # of orders we needed.. in fact it's up to 25 orders.

But I've never received anything save for the initial confirmation e-mail saying thanks... even a note to indicate whether the $100u.s. deposit or whatnot had been taken properly or confirmation that they had properly recorded the schematics (colour, style, etc.) of the guages I wanted?

Give them a call... I needed to get some extra double-face tape from them and I spoke with someone who was extremely helpful. He even gave me more tape than I needed AND shipped it for free without even asking me if I in fact DID buy from them.

I would also like to know how the kits look when they get put in. I'm satisfied with my pre-production set and outside of not getting enough tape initally and having to remove them because of a binding tach needle, I'm very impressed!

I couldn't find the proper double sided tape anywhere. Their tape is extremely thin 3M tape and I didn't want to have to rip the dash apart again to fix bubbling tape so doing it right the first time was the best option.

I did find some 3" wide EL bulk stock and bought a foot of it and a 12v inverter. I'm going to try to backlight my gauges when they come in the mail.

I called today and spoke with Arron. Very nice guy. He verified he had my CC info and said it would 6 to 8 weeks min.

He suggested if you have questions to call him directly.

Damn! I can't wait that long. What seems wierd to me, is that they already have done a set of these guages, don't you think they would save the template on a computer or something. Oh well, what can ya do

I hope your right about that. Aaron didn't seem like he really knew, and it might have been a the standard reply in such a case.

We'll get them.... just gonna have to wait.

They produced a number (not sure how many) of faces with "soft tooling" I don't know what that means exactally but I assume that the first faces were cut with a laser (mine are scorched on the edges from laser cutting)I'm not sure how they cut the EL panels, might be the same laser method.

I couldn't say why they made a run of gauge faces and some how destroyed the inital method of cutting the material but they seem to be a reputable company and I'm sure they have a reason for it.

Soft tooling means the initially made a prototype mold out of cheaper material to check dimsnsions.I used to use either PVC or a molded cast called DynaCast. The sets that were sold were technically not production parts if they didn`t have the finished tooling. The new ones will be a much higher quality.

What I got when I first called them when the SHO gauges intially vanished was that they had purchased new machines and converting over little used formats (AKA the Delopment list)would not be finacially sound unless they got enough people to cover the intial costs. Thankfully they already have the gauge faces on file so we don't have to wait for a total redo of the clusters.

I ordered the gauges at Christmas and they started to bubble up, so I called them up and got a brand new set for free, just got them today. This time they are all one piece instead of the 3 seperate pieces, which should be easier to line up than the last ones. thumbs_u

It will be 3-4 weeks before retooling is done. I just got an email from them about it.
