I really wanted to take my SHO up to Laguna Seca to watch a race this weekend, and I didn't have time to wait to purchase a used gauge, since my choice to try a "new" upper cable had no effect on the 60mph jitters. So... I pulled the cluster and took it to a Speed-O and Tach repair place. 2 hours later , and $100 poorer, I have it back, and it works fine. It turned out it wasn't the bushing at the back, but what he called a "jewel" that things spin on. Hopefully, I'm good for another 100K on it.
