I have a 1990 Sho and the spark plug wires have never been replaced so i figure it is time to replace them since i am experiencing sputter and have tried everythign to get rid of it. Well to get to the point i had called two ford dealers near me and they had quoted me a price of 225 dollars. does anyone have any idea y they are so much.

You can buy them from Pep Boys (made by Borg Warner) for $99 and they are comparable to OEM. Plus, they have a lifetime warranty so you can change them out for free if they fail.

FWIW, I've seen some Borg Warners that were a little tight, sucking in somewhat in the middle, lifting the corners of the seating ******.

If you can get Motorcrafts for $84 from Ford Parts Network, why pay $99 for questionable BW plug wires? Yes, I understand the warranty, but how many sets of wires are you going to go through? Don't answer that Scott or Marlene - you guys don't count on this one! :)

In my SHO youth, I tried the Borg-Warner wires from Pep Boys. Went through two sets in a short time (hey, they had a warranty) and they both resulted in spark misfires. Much cheaper construction and the 7mm wires did not snap into the wire looms. I had to go back to Motorcraft wires to get the engine to run correctly again. Stick with the best - the real thing - the Motorcraft wires from FordPartsNetwork.com.
