spark plug question...

AC Delco FR2LS... is this ok to use in the sho 3.0? That is what has been in my sho since I got it.
Could this effect how fast the sho will run?

If that is what AC Delco recommends for the SHO it will run fine. It's just that most non-motorcraft plugs are slightly taller so the spark plug wire boot doesn't seal against the cam covers which can let water and dirt into the plug wells. Check to see if the boots feel tight against the cam covers.

Can't you just get the "real" plug for the SHO? The Motorcraft AGSP32PP. $3.99 each from FordPartsNetwork.com. Is it difficult to get these shipped to Canada?

Easy to get from the Ford dealer. Kanata Ford (in Ottawa) never has them in stock but will always get them within a day. I pay about $8 CDN for them.

Normally that's a per plug price.

Ford Parts Network is about the lowest cost on plugs & wires in the US anyway.

If I thought it was even a remote possibility that a non motorcraft plug was slowing the sho down, I would change them out. One thing though, the 3 plugs in the back present themself a serious problem... seeing how I would not know where to begin to take the intake off
I'm just your average joe whose resume in servicing cars is sadly limited to changing the oil and rotating the tires.

you can get to the rear plugs but it can be a pain in the ass. If you have oil in the plug wells, you might as well remove the intake and replace the plug well seals and the valve cover gaskets. I highly recommend the motorcraft agsp32pp plugs. The owner before me had ****** split fires in and i saw a HUGE difference with the new plugs. Taking the intake off is not too hard. Just remember which hoses you unplugged from where and just do it. by the way.....any opinions from jeremy thomas on what kind of plugs to use?? thumbs_u j/k man......truce?

Don't worry Scott, my engine is running fine with the proper Motorcraft plugs. I paid $10 each at a Ford dealer and they had them in stock.
