I did the 96 brake upgrade years ago. I have heard that the donut spare will not fit on the front. Since I am giving my 94 ATX to my daughter to use I want to have a spare that will fit on the front end. What do you suggest for a spare that will fit in the trunk? Should I try to find a donut from a 96 sho. What other car's spares will work

Thanks

As long as the spare wheel is 16" it should work.
I believe I found mine in a Gen 3 SE or SES model.

Welllllllll

I hate to be a smart ass here, But I must.

Spare tires should NOT be mounted on drive-wheels. I constantly tell people who come to my work with spare tires mounted on a drive wheel.

Its ******* ANY front drive tranny, and ******* the rear end and tranny in RWD cars.

That is unless the spare is the same size/weight as the other full size tire.

Which in this case the height is there, weight is not.

I see others with that too and say the same thing... i think its important to have the same height, because if one wheel is smaller, the differential will have to bias constantly for that (smaller) wheel to keep up with the larger wheel, now granted you wont be doing burnouts on the donut... it still just doesnt seem right... for the differential or tranny atleast

Another option is a full-size spare with the appropriate ****** cover.

If the front tire blow, swap the back wheel on to the front and put the donut in the back. You have solved 2 problems with no additional cost. As an added benefit the donut will not be on the drive wheel.

Here's an idea get a regular tire and use it for your spare. This helps in many ways #1 Wear and tear on the car #2 confidance that you have a good tire for a spare#3 Your not always that close to town, tire shop or gas station that wil repair a tire and insted you must by a new one.#4 It's for you daughter she should have the best and that means a real tire not a doughnut.
