I'm swapping the 3.2 out of my 93 and installing a 95 engine ( rebuilding the 93 motor but thats an entirely different post ), Anyways I had the trans rebuilt about 12,000 miles ago and I believe they used the same torque converter from my previous 4 rebuilds. With that said I'm in the market for a performance Torque Converter and found one at SHOsource, I will most likely be buying the 3,000 rpm Hi-revs but before I place the order does anyone know what I should expect from the performance, and can someone be so kind as to explain the no lock up option pros and cons if possible. Thanks in advance

the no lock option is to not lock the TQ converter up at 4200 - 4800 for better gas mileage? and at highway driving or normal driving.

I've heard that tq conveter gets hot when it locks up?
Opposite. Unlocked converters generate more heat.

You only want a non-locking converter if you are going to use it as a dedicated drag car.

It's 99% impossible that they've rebuilt your existing converter for any of your previous rebuilds. Torque converter rebuilding is a specialized area and is far beyond the average transmission shop. They call their distributor, and order a master kit, a rebuilt converter, and any additional parts they'll need.

I'm running a 2800 stall. Works great. Mileage untuned is about 15 street/25 highway. The no tuned thing ends on Friday .

My point exactly, I'm still running the same torque converter, had the car since 2000, 4 trans rebuild..... I think I'm way over due.

As far as drivability goes, does anyone have any experience. I know the gas milage gets robbed but is that all????

Huh?

No self respecting tranny shop would rebuild a tranny and not replace the converter.

This makes absolutely zero sense. :nut:
