Somebody rigged this bad!! brakes

Ok. I bought a 93 SHO. well theres A problem there is a poportioning valve just for the rear brakes. its on the driver side above the rear control arms. It looks like two brake lines come from the master to it. and then two more go to each rear caliper. well one of the brake lines from the master are not connected at all. it has a bolt in it to stop break fluid from leaking. what the ****. well that might be a reason why the brakes suck. Why does that system need two lines from the master? are my back brakes working at all? thanks

One for each side...
And only one side is working.....
could be that the hard line started leaking.. so they got cheap (really cheap) and did that...

I had the same problem on my 93. You are going to need a METRIC flaring kit from autozone and your going to have to reflare the line and install it. Flaring it spreads open the end of the line just as wide as the bolt then make sure the bolt was on first and screw it in. Make sure to bleed out all air out of all break lines because a little air can make a caliper not work.

yeah, id fix that but one rear brake isnt going to effect braking much as far as stopping distance,(some but not as much as a front one would, rears only do 30% of the braking of a car so say your 15% down on braking power) but id certainly throw off the equilibrium of the car while braking.
