Well, we did it! Stupid or not, I made it up to Wayland, as did Korben, Brian, Alex, and yes, Jarod made it from fricken' Chicago! So what up James...

Good food, and an accomodating ********* with huge TV's to go around. Oh yeah- and snow. Did we mention snow?

Pics?

Looks like a great time for a road trip!

Here is the remnants of the accident that closed SB 131 at M-43...

At times it was a bit tough to see. Like from when I left to when I got there...

And the roads were, well... Gone.

But hey- put 'er in 4-high and go!!!

100_1761.jpg

Yay! Wayland Exit! Someone didn't make it... LOL!

100_1736.jpg

Finally, I got to Ucellos, wasn't too hard to find a place for everyone to park together...

Finally Alex's slow @$$ shows up...

100_1744.jpg

Followed by Brian- leaning out his window to move his non-working wipers by hand. (seriously- that's bad-ass! :oogle: )

By this time, it was really friggin' cold, so we wandered inside. Shortly after, Korben showed up, and Jarod followed after about an hour and a half. (He can tell that story)

After that, we all packed up into our deathtraps and headed out.

Only one spin-off on the way home, then it "cleared up"

...for about 30 seconds. Ironically, it was by the drag strip! Should have stopped... :nut:

All in all, we went through a few extra glasses of beverages, but no, Chris- we did NOT get kicked out. Although SOMEONE was trying before we even got into the restaurant... I'm not incriminating anyone, but I'm filming, so you figure it out..

Well lets see I left at 9:00 am CST and got gas then proceeded to drive to Wayland. I was fine until I got in Michigan and then the snow hit. White out conditions for about 80% of the time in Michigan got on 131 it was a slow go to begin with but for the most part I was running about 70-75 and passing everybody doing 50. Got there after 3.5 hours when it usually would take 2 at about 80-90 mph but I got there, used the ABS a lot. Well i got going on 131 and was goin good and the sun was shining but all of a sudden there was a cloud of snow so I let off the gas and then I see a car less than 100 feet in front of me. I ease on the brakes but firmly do it and of course ABS kicks in but thank god for that because that way if I needed to get in another lane I still had the control to do it. I am pretty sure the person in front of me was about to shit their pants.........so I passed them. The trip home went much faster thanks to a surprisingly clear I-94. Sure there was still blowing snow but I did pretty good.

I had a good time and would do it again but if I had new about the snow I probably would have stayed home.

Well, I'm glad everyone was safe and Brian got his wipers to work. Were they just frozen or what???!!!?? The highest speed I saw today was 20mph and a blew a brake line. Not like I could stop quickly anyways, but it's a good thing there were barely any cars on the road when I blew the line. So much for rusty but trusty..... she'll be on the road again soon enough though....

From mlive.com!

Saturday's nearly constant snowfall caused hundreds of weather-related slideoffs and traffic accidents throughout the region, according to some area police departments.

Blizzard-like conditions and white-outs led to accidents with vehicles blocking U.S. 131 in Wayland, according to Sgt. Ken Olney with the Michigan State Police, Wayland Post.

A stretch of southbound U.S. 131 between West Main Street and Stadium Drive had to be closed Saturday morning, due to a rollover accident that blocked both lanes, according to a news release from Michigan State Police, Paw Paw Post. The department said blizzard conditions on both U.S. 131 and Interstate 94 caused multiple slideoffs and accidents.

Police joined forecasters Saturday in asking people to avoid driving if possible. Those warnings came too late for dozens of motorists in Kent County's Byron Township, where 50 vehicles crashed on U.S. 131., and in southern Genesee County, where a 50-vehicle pileup forced the closing of northbound U.S. 23.

WHATEVAH!!!

Tim, that stainless steel brakeline groupbuy is still going...

well, that wouldn't be the line I need anyways. The stainless lines are to replace the rubber sections near the wheels. I blew out of of the 5/16 (i think) steel lines. That stuff is super cheap, but I just won't have time or a place to do it until tues night....

i dont think that will replace all of the rust lol. just playin tim dont hurt me:biggrin:

I don't care if my car is rusty. It just adds to the look on people's faces when I hand them a new one in a car that doesn't even look like it should run!:hail:
