I was looking for a replacement steering wheel because the leather on mine is turning from grey to black in spots. It really does not look that nice everytime I clean it. So I was looking for a replacement and found a grey, non leather :) steering wheel for a 99 Mustang. It looks the same, but I figure it there has to be something like different wiring harnesses to make this a slight challange.

Has anyone swapped out their gen II steering wheel for another similar looking Ford steering wheel?

The GT500 Steering wheel from a ~'00 stang works for the SHO, so I dont see why a newer stang one wouldnt... The cruise buttons you'll have to swap over from your original wheel, as I'm sure those are different, and thne horn platform. I Would think it would work, but the cruise buttons may not line up, depending... Someone on here must have done it..

That is SWEET... where/how much are those? I have a perfect black leather wheel in my 91, but I love that peforated leather. Very classy IMO.

They can be found online and in the Ford Racing Catalog. I think Midwest SHO even sells them. They go for about $190 I think, and you'll need to buy the buttons for the horn from the Ford dealer, for a regular mustang. The taurus ones are slightly different and won't work.

Just checked out Mikey's site and did see them there... think I'll make the oem one work for now. I upgraded the accords wheel to an acura for $40, darn aftermarket for SHOs.

It will bolt right on, but the airbag is a different story. I don't know what needs to be done with that.
