My SHO keeps smoking after it's been driven for over 30 minutes. It's not overheating though. A friend looked at it and said my transmission fluid is leaking bad but couldn't see where. Any suggestions???

Well it could be burning off the cats, that just happened at Thunderhill during the convention. Is the tranny overfilled? Leaking pan?

Probably the trans fluid burning off the cat. To find out where your leak is coming from, clean up the tranny case as best you can, and then check it after running the car for a little while. Remember though, if you take it on the freeway or really do any speeds over about 25-30MPH, the fluid is going to blow all over the underside of the car, and you'll be right back at square one.

Catalytic Converter.... ( spell check me ) It is the part of the exhasut system that takes all the "bad" stuff out of the exhaust that is emited into the air... kinda looks like a small muffler near the front of the car... our cars have 2 of them.

Thanks, where's the leak?

If this it is leaking on the CAT, where's the leak usually at? And it is simple to fix?

Or an the oil pan (my current cituation  ). However it could be oil in the spark plug wells, I had so much before I fixed everything that it started leaking down the backside of the engine!

If it's your transmission pan gasket, you valve cover gaskets, or you plug well seals that are leaking, then you need to but the gasket coresponding to that part from Advanced Auto or the like.

If it's the oil pan, you need to get some silicone gasket maker type stuff and follow the directions(what I will be doing soon!).

Good luck to you!
