smoke and plug wells????

i know my plug wells are full of oil. After running my car for about 15 mins, i see smoke coming from somewhere in the engine compartment. It smells like oil and it's a grayish looking smoke. Is this happening because of the oil in the plug wells or is oil leaking out somewhere? What's going on here?

it's probably not from the plug wells...

My buddies 90 SHO does the same thing,

It's either a seal lower in the motor, or the oil level sensor leaking, either way it's not related to the plug wells. Jack the car up and toss some jackstands underneath and have a look. You might be able to see where the leak is coming from...
