Now that weather has gotten in to the 90's I have notice once my car is hot it become extremely sluggish off the line. For all types of start from a normal start to a whole shot. But once it hit 15-20 mph it will accelerate Normaly. Has anyone experience? Planning on checking to see what plug I have if there F's or Y's

I doubt plugs are going to make a difference. The PCM is liking pulling spark advance out because its hot. This is done to protect the motor. Once the air gets moving (15mph) the intake temps drop and it starts giving back the timing.

Red Candy has a point there. Check it out on a fresh morning with cool air. Response should be back to normal.

Is your car stock? I ran a 13.2 @ 105+mph last Fri @ Cedar Falls Raceway (IOWA), when it was 91 Deg & humid. However, I was tune testing with Torrie in these conditions in FL. You have to power brake at a higher RPM in high temp conditions to avoid bogging down.

No EBB, was running LMS stage 4, backed down to stage 3. I am sure heat, humidity, timing retard has everything to do with. Just the hesitation I've been getting extremely excessive. At times the throttle is almost totally unresponsive. But only happens when the temps have been 90's once car is hot. once the car is cool or drive for a bit where it hasn't had to idle run fine.

Update, been very hot here in the detroit area lately. And I have noticed that I haven't had any hesitations lately. 2 things that have changed since I first reported, I did change my plugs to the updated ones, and MB steel grill. Not sure which or both fixed just happy its not happening anymore.

Glad to hear it's better.

Have you had TSB 11-5-6 done yet?
Kinda sounds like it involves your symptoms.

No have not, although I don't think this symptom is related to the TSB. I have experienced other symptoms related to TSB. The trans has never slipped, however I do get the hard bump on occasion only while under light acceleration. I do need to make a appointment with the dealer. Just don't like anybody fooling around with my car. Plus will need to get a new strategy code for LMS. I don't think I could drive stock even for a day. Lol The plus side if a new program for my SCT I'll get the new stage 4.

Where are you at in Michigan? I need to take my car in for a few things but I never seem to have time during the week. I want to do the trans tsb, fix the drivers side lumbar, and fix a clunk on the driver side front wheel area.

Sounds like you have only some of the symptoms of that TSB.....I expect you're thinking it'll be good to get it done anyway.
Yeah, I hear you on anyone touching our cars. I wish I could do it all myself too.
A new strategy code and possible program would be a plus.
Let us know what happens please.

I recently cleared out the KAM memory in the ECM on my car and was pleased with the results. (this essentially clears out the memory and resets the computer back to factory defaults allowing it to then re-learn everything)

The process is quite easy:

1. disconnect negative battery cable
2. turn on head light switch
3. allow car to sit for 45-60 minutes
4. turn off headlights switch
5. reconnect battery cable
6. start car, keep climate control off, allow to idle for at least 2 minutes
7. drive the car for at least 10 miles in combination highway/local conditions
8. use car as normal

This process should reset the shift learning feature of the transmission, the fuel trims, the spark advance, etc.

Do you lose things like radio presets, time, odometer readings after disconnecting the battery?

Thanks.

I just did this on my car. The clock automatically reset. The station presets and seat presets remained with prior settings. The odometer does not reset.

That is good news. The odo reading means naught to me anyway.
Now I will finally reset mine to see the difference between having learned 'granny' driving and not.

Cheers, and thanks ABS.
