Sluggish Sho.........some Help Please!!!

ok this is what happen. my car has not been ran it about 3 months. I took it apart because it was running very un smooth and felt like it had no torque. so i took it apart to chage out the knock sensor because my brother a ford mechanic told me that was the problem. so i took off the intake mani and fuel to get to it. then i put it all back together and that is when the problems started. it leaked fuel from the fuel rail badly, so i got a new one off ebay and put it on. everything was A Okay :thumb: because it didn't leak fuel. but when i went to start it well it didn't. :mad: so after some help from you guys i found out that my new plug wires were not right. after putting them in the right spot i started the car and at WOT it would only sit a about 800 RPM then it would stall so i started it back up a few times thinking it was just some crap that needed to be ran through the motor. i guess i was right because after about 3-5 times of doin this it started up fine and when through the rev rang nicely. when i went to move it, I let off the clutch at about 2000 rpm the rpm dipped so i gave it more gave but it didn't seem to want to go. like it had 0 torque or somthing. i drove it about 1/4 and when i gunned it it would hardly move until it hit a torque curve at about 3500rpm. from there it reved up nicly but under that it felt really sluggish. The car has new plugs and wires. also has a new IAC. Even no the plugs are new they might be fauling because of all the fuel that was ran through the motor when the plugs were not right. so for how cheap they are i think i am just gona get a set and see what happens. also wanted to no if there was not a 60K done on a car with 120k if that would cause problems like this. im not sure if there was a 60k done on the car or not. but do you think this could also be a problem?? give me your opion and please tell me what you think could cause this

start the car and put it in nuetral. get out and look at the engine(open the hood:D). Then look at the intake where the butterflys are(the point where the runners meet the outside portion). Use the throttle body to rev the engine and when it hits 4,000 rpm, you will see movement in the middle of the butterflys. If this does not move at all then there is something wrong...:thumb:

Any other suggestions will be much appricated if you think that there are any other reasons my car might be doing this.

can't pull the codes yet no engine light is on. doesn't the engine light have to be on to pull the codes. please correct me if im wrong. ;)

just kidding.

The Check Engine Light doesnt' have to come on for codes to be present. In fact, I think the CEL usually comes on just for O2 sensor problems. But I'm probably wrong. :bonk:

Check the codes!

:thumb: ok ill pull the codes but i have to wait for about a month. because when i go back to school ill get the tool to pull the codes but i don't have one. i also checked the secondaries and well i did it myself and i didn't no what rpm exactly but it sounded like it was about 4000rpm. it definitly closed when it was at a low rmp and it was definitly open when it was at a higher rpm. i drove the car around a lil bit today and it felt like it had V-TEC when the secondaries were cloesed it was really sluggish but when they opened you could really feel the power come on. so if that sounds like anything that anyone has experienced, please tell me what it was or if anyone has any suggestions please ill be happy to here them to. Thanks :eek:

could my sluggish SHO be because i am only using regular fuel and not high octain like i should be. the next time i fill up i will get high octain fuel and see if it will run better. i no when my brother who has a mustang gets regular his car runs like **** so he get the medium stuff. so i hope this will do the trick because if it doesn't i don't no what to do.

you don't need a code reader to read the codes, there's a procedure on how to do it at shotimes.com, its really easy, you just connect two different pin connections right near the strut tower in the engine bay, by the driver's side, using a jumper, aka a paperclip...then you get in the car and...well, just go to shotimes, they give you all the explanation you need...but we need your codes....and i think you got hosed on that fuel rail, i had the same problem, but it was just that my injectors were'nt seated well, took it back off, got it all right, and it worked fine...just taking off a fuel rail shouldn't really mess it up...your problem definately sounds a little strang though..def. use high octane fuel, i dunno if that would fix the problem tho, higher octane means it can withstand more compression before it combusts, so with the SHo, crappy fuel means pre ignition, but i dunno if that would cause your whole deal...sorry for the non answer to your question...

ok ill do that but i just f*$@ed up my car the other day. i did a lil burnout not anything big just a lil spin and after my car freaked out my engine light came on my air bag light came on ABS light came on, it was really really weird. i pulled into my grauge and let it run i tried to put up the windows (the car was still running) and it was like the bat. was dead they were going up exteamly slowly. ok so i thought my bat was dead. so i turned the car off and opened the hood and you could hear an odd noice, the ratiator fluid was boiling. again very very odd. so i let the car cooool down and i got back in the car after that, and all the interior lights came on not dim or anything so i knew the bat. was not dead. i didn't have the guts to try to start it so i just left it in the grauge. the next morning i found a small pin in my driveway, it is about 1 1/2" and it is very sharp at one end and at the other it is gold and has threads on it so it srews into somthing. it looks alot like a carb jet but bigger. ill have pics up on my cardomain site tonight. i know that this part just fell resintly because it was not dirty at all it was clean as a wistle and i found it right about were my car freaked out. so i think this might have something to do with it. it was the weirdest thing i have even seen. this needle that i found may have nothing to do with my car but i really think that it does and it is important. so please tell me if you no what this thing is or why my car would freak out like this. and check my car domain site for pics of it. http://www.cardomain.com/id/fastsho92
