After I did my rod bearings my friend smeared the cylinders with Mobil 1 synthetic grease. Was this a bad idea?

my god you'll sieze your engine doing that. take it all back apart and clean it out. Use speedy dry to get the grease off the cylinder walls. :laugh_ti:

seriously why you would do something like that is beyond me, but it shouldn't affect anythign as long as you crank the engine over for a few to build up oil pressure before you start it. Remember keep the DIS disconnected sand crank the engine over a bunch to get the oil flowing.

It'll wash the grease away when it gets hot. prolly want to change your oil say after 100 miles or so to get any dust and dirt out of the engine.
