Will these fry my headlight wiring harness? (9007 model)

Do you see any performance change on the headights?

Do they look blue when lighted?

Thanks for any help

Sylvania Silverstars?
If so, my personal experience is:
no.
no. But they say the 100 watt wiring harness is how you brighten the road.
no.
:D
But others love them!

I have Silverstars coupled with a heavy-duty wiring harness and my headlights are so bright now. They are a hyper-white, not blue. These should work fine with the stock harness, but you will not be wowed by these until you get the upgraded harness.

agreed.
I was disappointed after I installed mine.
However, there was a LITTLE improvement...

Make sure you aim the headlights up. Usually Gen 3s are aligned too low.

I purchased the bulbs but can't seem to remove the bulbs.

I can't even touch the bulb housing.

I dont have to owners manual.

My first guess would be to remove some black box on the driver side.

The opposite side , do i disconect the alternator?

HELP

thanks

three bolts at the back top of headlight assemblies. remove two short ones [either side] and loosen long shaft one. pull out assembly and you will have access to bulbs. not neccessary to disconnect battery or alternator.

yes remove the headlghts , it is the easiest way . i actually replaced mine w/o removing them , but i am know scarred for life wink . btw when you remove them it would be a good time to put in 3457ll turn signal bulbs( mine burned out two days after my headlghts were replaced! ) as you need to remove the headlghts to replace them also .

This might be a summer project now. I can't see myself freezing my butt trying to change them.

I guess i'll have to wait until i get a warmer garage or a nice winter day.

One more question though, to remove the bulb. Do you pull on the wire connected to the base. I can't seem to get a good grip on the base. I am also afraid i will strip the wire pulling on them.

thanks

Summer project? C'mon, man. It is not that hard. Really. You are going to kick yourself when you find out how easy it is. There are 4 bolts holding the headlight assembly in place. 8mm I believe, maybe 10mm. Three of the bolts will come out, and one is a long bolt that does not remove from the headlight assembly. After you do that, pull the headlight up and out towards you. Twist the plastic ring in the back of the headlight assembly that holds the bulb in the housing counterclockwise. Then you should be able to pull the bulb right out. Unplug it, plug in Silverstar, reverse the steps above and viola! You are done. Takes maybe 10 minutes. Not quite long enough to freeze your tush off.

I put the Sylvania Silver Stars on my '96 and like them a lot.

They are a white light, not that cheap and ricer looking fake blue (note: "blue" regular bulbs just cut the amount of light).

They seem to be brighter with the stock wiring harness and light up the road better. I tried them before and after raising the lights a bit from the stock position. Raising does help a lot.

Highly recommend the Sylvania's with or without the wiring harness, nice cheap upgrade to the stock bulbs without having people flash their high beams at you all the time.
