On stuff like the peice that screws into the block, and connects to the oil filter adapter, or some of the sensors that screw into the block, should I use some kind of plumbers pipe dope to seal the threads? Or teflon tape? Also, this seems like a very vauge question, but what stuff should I use loctite on, and what color? Sorry for bugging you all with so many questions. :nut: :bonk:

Teflon tape or pipe dope is usually a good idea. Some people prefer pipe dope because it can't block the end of a fitting like tape can (if it folds back over the end) and if any excess gets off and gets in the passage it won't "string up" like the tape can. In other words, tape is a little more likely to get into or block things than just using pipe dope.

If the new part has a red sealant already on it, don't use anything.

Most fasteners (there a a few exceptions noted in the maintenance manual) do NOT require Locktite, they rely on proper torque. That means you need the torque specifications and a decent torque wrench.

Fittings into the cooling system or oil channels should be sealed with something along the line as PTFE dope or similar. Teflon tape can be used, but you need to make certain when applying it that it cannot shredd and get pieces flowing into the sealed system.

Loctite makes the best brush on pipe dope I've used. Very smooth flowing and stable.

I use Loctite blue on the brake hardware.

Pipe threads need a sealant, The filter cooler fastener or tube would not. It has rubber seals and only needs to be tightened to spec.

Don't use anything on the oil ******, ditto for the knock sensor.
