Ok riddle me this. My partner and I are looking at some cars at a lot (for him), we see something that looks interesting and Put the car in N, and we exit. He shuts his door, and since the engineers there at F*** weren't allowed over time when the door hinge was being designed, mine auto-closed:oogle: then the d&*% car LOCKED itself!! What the &*%$! So I recovered by some how recalling the number I saw once on that control unit in the trunk with the antenna wire coming out of it:thumb: (RKE) thank GOD it works with the engine running.

Should I have the car exercised or what?

Hmmmm, feature wasn't this first word that came to mind yesterday. Can I adjust it or turn it off? I'm afraid when I'm home around the kids again, I'll wind up having this happen with mama and we all know how that could go.

Someone on the forum should know. You can disable the feature but I haven't had my 93 in 8 years and cannot remember. Mine only locked when I hit 15mph or something. I can't remember--too long ago. I doubt the Gen I's have this feature though.

Nope, mine is enabled.

It locks the doors when you come out of reverse on the MTX. The ATX, IIRC, does it when you come out of park.

I don't recall the procedure, but I think it's on shotimes.com and more than likely here too.

ok got it...

with the feature on your doors lock when..........all doors are fully closed, key is turned on, someone or somthing is sitting in the drivers seat, you shift through reverse

to deactivate......

enter the factory entry code
within 5 seconds press and hold 7/8
within 5 more seconds press and hold 3/4

reactivation is the same thing

and if the battery is disconnected or the battery gets to weak it will reset the feature

funny you posted this, I just found out about this yesterday when my buddy closed his door. My mtx never used to lock the doors untill i started moving forward. My atx all you have to do is have all the doors closed and the second the last door closes no matter what gear I am in (park included) it locks the doors.

Am I dreaming or isnt there a plug under the drivers seat that you can unplug or plug in to disable the feature? As I type this I think I might have dreamed that up. I swear I heard that on here though. -Karson

Ok, that's weird, I just removed both front seats to clean and treat. When I went to reinstall I noticed there were two female connectors that could fit the ONE male connector. One of the female connectors came from under the carpet, the other was affixed to the seat. The male plug was also on the seat.

Seemed to me that plugging this thing up basically to itself didn't seem to bright, so I connected the one from under the carpet. SOooooo, I did this, Man....:idiot:
