Car is shifting at ~2900 rpms only. No matter the throttle angle, speed, temp. or whathaveyou. I've heard the Transmission Range Sensor could be suspect?? Is there a diagnostic that I can run on the ATX? Any input is appreciated. :type:

Check your codes. This one is odd. Even at WOT it will shift at 2900 RPM?

It could very well be your VSS. When my VSS became disconected it shifted at 4K and would not downshift for passing. Check your connections, there is a connector near the oil pressure sending unit. It is located below the EGR.

How about a throttle position sensor. If it dont know where the throttle is, it might shift at a programed speed.

Follow your speedo cable down from the firewall to the tranny. The speedo cable connects to the VSS, which is mounted on the top of the tranny. It's a beeotch to get the screws out to replace it if the tranny is not out, but it can be done.

Adam, I say TPS also. IF the VSS was bad, you'd see the other symptoms too (TC not locking up, VAPS acting crazy, cruise control working intermitantly). Unplug it and see what you get. Put your meter on the harness. BTW, give me a call. Haven't talked to you in a while and you never answer your phone.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I've checked the TPS with a DMM, the VSS was replaced about ~2 years ago. I have no cruise control, the VAPS is on full assist all the time and the TC never locks up. The VSS may have went bad again, who knows?? There are no transaxle codes when I run the KOEO/KOER.

Did you notice if the heat shield for the VSS was in place? I have heard the heat from the y-pipe is very bad for the VSS.

Haven't had the chance to get the car into the air yet, but I will look. Any ideas on the Trans. Range Sensor?
