what kind of work are you talking about?
For big jobs I'd contact Paul in Hertford NC. His screen name is 88gta something. You can search teh member directory from the community tab above & shoot him a pm or something if you need work done.
Not a great SHO specialist in town that I know. The person you bought the car from may know someone.

Yeah, i was looking for a person that knew about them, a little closer to me. And true, he probably does! Thanks! Oh and i was hoping to have the Valve clearance and Valve shims inspected and serviced if needed. I think thats part of the 60k. But Idk. I just had the car in the shop for a bunch of Oil leaks, brakes, and tie rods, and it was over 1200. So id have to wait awhile. lol. AND one more thing, how far past do you think i could go over 60k to do the valve service? all the other components of the 60k are good so far

You could probably go 100,000 miles over the valve adjustment with no issues. It's not really a concern, but if you have to do valve cover gaskets, it's a very simple thing to check.

There is a guy named Eric McMillan in Axton, VA. I strongly suggest you go somewhere else though. Had some bad experiences with him

The valve lash can wait. The brakes are something you should do yourself if you want to save money. Most of us became decent with a wrench from owning these things.
For 60k stuff I would go to Paul. He's very reasonable as far as cost and does this stuff alot. It's not that far to go for major items. I wouldn't suggest it or use him myself if it wasn't worth it. Brakes, plugs, and small stuff you should try yourself. There are how to guides on here, at shophoenixproject.com, and the shotimes.com faq. We can walk you through most stuff if you get stuck.

Wow, thanks guys! This is got to be the coolest SHO forum around. So Im going to wait on the Valves, the only reason I brought it to the shop is because it was fixed by my parents as a late christmas present, and they wanted it done "right". Lol. I do plan to do the little things myself, and i just looked it up. Paul is about an hour and a half away from me, not to shabby. And thanks for the tip to stay away from that one guy, and the chance to have my valves done if im ever in Raeford. One question, luigisho, where r u in Va beach? I live right off of Independence, about a mile from "town center" ( i put in quotation marks because it is frankly a pathetic town center, lol). On another side note, I am going to start to troubleshoot a slight ruff idle problem, im going to search the forum, and try to get some answers. Thanks SO MUCH!

Thanks, I really do appreciate it. I have just started exploring my SHO, and I love it. Sho's just have a certain magic about them. No other car I have ever driven, ever made me so happy. And i really haven't driven many cars, but i have driven some nice ones and they have nothing on mine. My friends were like, and you wanted a 20 year old Grandma sedan? And i was like **** yeah, Its an SHO. Lol

Highly recommend Paul for your SHO needs. He's just south of Elizabeth City, about an hour south of you, and his work is always top-notch. He has been a big help to many in the club. :salute:

I'm over in Brigadoon near Tallwood high school these days. I wish I could be alot of help but I work a ton. I have tools and such if you need something.

Luigi is a great example of the SHO community in the VA Tidewater area. You will find a great source of knowledge and support here to help with any questions or issues.

I may need some help soon, but I'll let you guys know. I'm trying to get my SHO all cleaned up first and get this exhaust fixed so I can drive it.

I'm pretty sure I have a transmission oil leak. It's hard to get into gear and I found some oil on the floor of my garage. I'm going to make a thread today with some pix of the car.

Damn dude, you were about a mile or two from me back when I lived in Aragona. Right behind the Food Lion. Now folks start popping up everywhere in that area with these cars needing help, service and advice and I can't help anymore. :frown: That reminds me, DJ sent me a PM. Thanks DJ!
