Count me in Nik but thats only if i get my pads changed first, I'm due. Is it $20 for unlimited passes or is it limited to 3-4 passes in a night. Either way let me know I still would like to go check it out if nothing else.

Virg

Pads? Pads? We don't need no stinkin pads.

I've got some good used pads Virg if you're in a bind.

Virg,

It's $20 for as many runs as you can stage for. I tested the theory last time and the only reason I stopped running was Mike told me that everyone else had gone home.

Lots of fun. I hope to make it.

I'll be shooting up to the track after work. I hope to be up there around 7:30, that way if I need to leave early I can. I'll be bringing some friends along with an LT1, supra trubo, and maybe an 05 sti.

Good luck with removing weight items, bringing ice for the manifold and picking up "good gas". I'll be running 87 with no ice and everything in the car. Not too serious...

See you all there!

100 Octane Gas

Tee HEeee. I'm stoked! 100shot+100+octane=......200mph!!!

Now I could use some of that 100 octane stuff. Where are you guys getting it? I hear there is some in Tucson, but I can never find the station. I know where there is some 115 octane fuel for sale, but it is leaded and the O2 sensor isn't going to like that.

Speedworld (the track) has the race gas. Maybe that track we went down to Tucson that time has it? Yes leaded gas is bad for the O2 and the cats. 115 is overkill usually though, 100 is deffintly enough unless you have an increased spark advance/real high compression or a bad tune.

Do they even make 100 octane without the lead additives? I don't think they do. Besides, you're going to spend more on gas in one night than you will by replacing two oxygen sensors. It doesn't clog them up right away, so run it.

My 96 brake upgrade bracket didn't come in today so it looks like I'll be taking The Other Woman again.

You guys that are not coming out to Dooleyville want to meet up for dinner before we head to the track? Maybe something on the far west end of Bell Rd, near Grand Ave?

100 octane race gas is usually unleaded and the 110 is leaded. I wouldn't run _any_ leaded gas across an 02 sensor if you want it to be reliable after that and not improperly adjust your fuel mix. The cats don't care for it too much, either. :frown:

At many of the road course events the fuel vendor is there until 1 or 2pm, selling 100 octane unleaded and 110 leaded. It's seriously expensive stuff, though, and I don't know that it would make much difference in a normally aspirated vehicle unless you're having problems with knock.

Yes, unleaded 100+oct is expensive. However, they do sell 103-108 oct unleaded at the track at a price. 113-116(I recall) is leaded. Let's not get confused about which octane will do us favors in the long(1320) run tho. Spark advance, FI, Hi Comp, and..Ssssppprrraaaayyyy and we will be OK.

Joe, I predict one VQ vs. SHO victory for you(no names:)) and Aaron, I appreciate your'e good sportsmanship cuz nowadayz VQ:slap: SHO...WT:shrug: F mate? :thumb:

Okay, Mikey. I put the old rotor back on the right side. I couldn't re-use the old calipers because they wouldn't bolt to the newer knuckles. I don't know how much it's going to pull to the left with only half of a big brake upgrade done, but I will test it out on Dixileta Dr soon. Stay clear!

Eep! :omg: I'll stay off Dixileta for the time being...

It looks like I'll be in Tempe/Chandler until 5pm or so. I'll call Tom about then and see what you guys are up to, maybe I'll intercept at the vittle site.

Well, one of them does. I got my butt spanked by Mikey all night long. Those mods you've done sure work well.

Had a great time at the drags.

Mike, thanks for the help on changing out the EATC and the radio.

Jesse, thanks for your help on the brakes and and the antenna.

Glad it was a safe time for our bodies and our cars. It was a real treat. My 2 buddies that came with me down the mountain had a blast.

I reviewed the slips and the videos and know that I can break into the high 14's with some lower temps. I have 60' times of 2.34 at 95 degrees with some modest screechin' wheel spin. Trapping at 94.5 mph.
Heck Tom might actually be able to get into the 15's if we get it in the low temp time of year. Next time we do this in the cold Fall weather (Phoenix cold = 80 deg).

I will have some vids in the next week or so of the 5 or 6 races Tom and I had....though they all seem to come out the same. We did however run our personal best times when we raced that Element and that Kia at the track.

Tom's best: 15.38
Mike's best: 15.19
Nik's best: 14.8x

Tom's worst: 16.24
Mikes worst: 15.94 (whew, almost in the 16's).
Nik's Worst: 29.60...

Ummm Nik, I could have nearly lapped you on that run dude.

Good job Mike, haha. Now I can't give you crap anymore for being so slow. Isn't it fun just to drive the crap out of your car?

My best time ever is 15.216 at 93.4. My fastest trap speed ever was 93.6. I had to life my uti trophy up to get my slips since they are kept under it. My plugs and wires are crappy and my car has never had the valve adjustment done either. I kind of want to do that stuff and get to the track before I sell it...we'll see whenever I can come up with some money I guess.

That was with a 2.480 and 2.565 60' times. Imagine if we could get traction...

Haha. Yeah, that was pretty bad. I guess racing my car wasn't really the best idea right now. I barely made it home! I have to drive it with the maf disconnected and it still runs really poorly. I think I have some issues with the maf circuit in the harness as well as a bad FPR. I'll get it fixed soon tho. I'm also waiting on my XCal to get back to me since I shipped it back to FPS for recalibration. Once my car is runnung good with the new program, I think a 13.9 is possible in some cooler weather. Excuses, excuses:)

Oh, and not that it matters, but it was 14.7 something at 99 something:thumb:
