Sounds like your CPS (Cam position sensor) It's located near the backside of the motor close to the top on the pass. side. It runs about 35$ at your local Napa.

What are the other symtoms though? Does it clear up for a while only to come back again? Have you relpaced any other parts under the hood that would help you narrow it down like plugs & wires?

Well like i said it mainly does it at take off.. Could it have anything to do with my timing belt tensioner? it's been bad for a while but im changing it this weekend.. Could that be it? i herd after a while it can throw your timing off..

Ok new problem.. driving home my car would start studdering again and wouldn't stop for a while and it started smoking.. it look's like there's oil coming from the pulley area but im not 100% sure.. if it was leaking at the pulley's what would the studdering and power loss be? how could you connect them?

try replacing your CPS! If that dosn't do the trick I would then do plugs and wires. When the wires get really old they "arc" causing a "studder" If this is the case though the problem will be consistant and never go away. The CPS comes and goes at random, but will get progressively worse over time.

It will also cause smoke to come out b/c that sensor controls the whole air/fuel ratio in your heads. I.E. valves are opening and or closing to soon/late

Could be that as well! My dad had that happen to his 94 atx. He noticed power loss throughout the entire powerband. I remember the car wouldn't go much past 70. If it's bad then there you go:thumb: If that still dosn't cure the problem go with the above post...CPS, then plugs+ wires.

Well i've been reading on here that the leaking oil and smoking can be from a Cam seal or main.. And from what everyone is saying it sounds like it could be a cam seal it's coming out from the righ place to be a cam seal.. But what about the power loss and studdering and did i forget to mention i started my car today and it was idling far lower than 1000 like 500rpm? could it be the cam seal? and would that cause my other problem's in anyway?
