I must say that this is a great start to servicing a SHO for someone that doesn't have a service manual available. I don't know how long it has been on their site, but it was pointed out in the LSSHOC mailing list and I thought that it should be posted in the Forum as well.

Here is the direct link to the AutoZone.com procedure, including images, of the timing belt replacement for the 3.0L and the 3.2L SHO engines. A few key jobs are listed below, but there are many other services in the column on the right of the page. Check 'em out.

The sections clearly state "3.0L Except SHO" and "3.0L and 3.2L SHO."

Thanks Scott...

After reading the instructions for a 3.2 timing belt, it has solidified my option to bring my car to a knowledgable mechanic. Holy COW! I'm such a woman when it comes to car's mechanics. I wish I had car-shop in high-school.

I'll have to check later, but these seem to be taken right out of the Chilton's..

I really like these drawings, though, they are a lot easier to figure out than some others.

Thanks for the links, Scott!

I just followed their "instructions" for changing my "radiator" on my '90 MTX. If you are planning on just following their directions to the T, don't count on it. There's quite a bit you have to unscrew, remove, disconnect in order to get the bugger out. Still, the drawings are very good and complete.

I got my new radiator from NAPA. Only place in town that actually stocked the durn things.. no autozone in the immediate vicinity frown

Does anybody know how much autozone charges to do a timing belt job. I could really stand to have it done but cheap would be good.

AutoZone is an auto parts store - they don't have a service department.
