Well I think I finally figured it out. All the performance guys who are dissing the SHO really want a Taurus or Fusion SVT!!! SVT's mission is to fulfull maximum performance while the SHO (Super High Output) was meant as just that. A high power motor in a somewhat luxurious sedan that is the mother of all sleepers.
Bravo Ford for sticking to your guns and naming this one correctly and I hope that Ford listens to all the performance guys and designs a Taurus SVT for them.

That almost 100% sure will not happen, mostly because the Taurus is a much too large car and having another higher performance sedan over the SHO would **** sales of each other.

A fusion SVT with the SHO's motor though, I think a lot of guys here would be spazzing out if Ford released that (with a 6 speed manual or DSG). S4 killer FTW :)

Am I mistaken or did you just ID all us SHO fanatics as Non-Performance Guys...?

Or in other words... did you just diss everybody here?:laugh_ti:

No no no!!! I am also a SHO fanatic. So much so that it will be my next car. I just think we should consider the car for what it IS and not for what it isn't.

I think the younger crowd is the ones that need the convincing. They all still think they bought a race care... Most of us know what we got.

If you want an SVT, try www.svtperformance.com.

Uh, I think the SVT guys/gals are hoping their Raptor takes off before they do anything else. Trust me on that. And by the way, it may be hard to sell an SVT Fusion next to their Hybrid Fusion on the lot. Ford is spending ALOT of money on their fuel efficient Hybrid Fusion and I may be wrong, but I doubt we may see an SVT line up for the Taurus, Fusion, Flex, etc anytime soon.

...soon you will be able to build your own SVT Fusion.

Believe it or not there are already alot of aftermarket parts for the Fusion including high-performance engine parts. An intake & tune from Steeda alone adds something like 31hp...then there are lightweight pulleys, UDP, cat-back exhausts from both Magnaflow & Borla...now there are headers & even a supercharger in development (should make somewhere between 300-400 hp)...the only question yet to be determined is will the Aisin 6-speed auto tranny hold up.

Since the Fusion is essentially a Mazda 6 (the engines are a little different but basically the same, the suspensions are basically interchangeable) the more aftermarket tuner parts come out for the 6, the more parts are available for the Fusion. I own a modded '06 Fusion 3.0L V6 so I know...just check out the FordFusionForums sometime!

I hope they put that 280 horse turbo 2.0 in the fusion with a 6 speed. I know i keep saying this, but it'd make a nice successor to the Mazdaspeed6 if they can keep it under 30k.

...here's an old pic of the Steeda Fusion from their website:

Fusion 598

...here's a pic of the MRT Fusion from their website (AWD Fusion with a Garrett T31 turbo producing 325 hp):

FusionT5 2007 2 004

...here's a pic of mine so far, it's a work in progress...no turbo or supercharger (yet!):

Fuze pic36

...sorry if I got a little sidetracked with this thread, but I didn't mention the Fusion first! I'm kinda a Ford fanatic all-around. I love the SHO (which my dad is currently driving) but I love the Fusion too! It's nice to see Ford doing good!
