My 92MTX feels as though it is missing under moderate load such as trying to pass somebody on the highway. This is only amplified and sounds like backfiring under full throttle. does anybody have any suggestions?

If you find that there is oil on the end of your plug wires; you will need to buy new plug well seals. I would order a felpro gasket kit from either autozone or midwestsho.com.

I changed both today, the problem is gone! There was no oil in the plug wells, the plugs were light brown and a bit white which is probably because the car sat for a little over a month and there was probably condensation in the fuel tank. I tried the old-timers check (turn off the lights in the garage and look for arcing) to see if the wires were bad and there was nothing, the plugs did not look fouled, is there any way to determine which was causing the problem?
