Sho Mechanic Manual

is there a manual I can get so i can fix and work on my sho. I went to lincoln tech for a year for auto mechanic but i never saw anything like this before this engine is a peice of work.

What has helped me tremendously is the basic chiltons manual and I suggest purchasing Mark Nunnally's video on performing the 60k service. Both will be helpful on the sho basics and help you familiarize yourself with the engine and its basic components..

Ebay usually has factory manuals on there all the time. Also usedbooksforsale.com has them from time to time (I may be wrong with the name of the site, fredhurderjr knows the correct site). These manuals (Helms) are the same thing that Ford techs use.

Faxon Auto Literature, in Riverside Ca. has more auto manuals than God. They have the Helms manual for $80. I asked about the shop manual for my 65 Mustang. "Do you want a slightly used original or a new reproduction ?" was the response.

www.helminc.com - new shop manuals
www.ebaymotors.com - find used SHO related items, including Shop manuals.

There will be (depending on year):

Taurus / Sable / SHO (1 Book) or
Taurus / Sable + separate SHO (2 Books)
EVTM (Electrical, Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual)

Some years do not specifically have a separate EVTM; they use a prior year's.

I have a Chilton's & never count on it. There are known errors (coil pack wire layout, 1 example). I have the 91 complete set, the 95 complete set, the 96 SHO & EVTM. Looking for a 96 Taurus, a 97 set, and a 93 set (to cover the different ATX) myself. Low on the priority list is an 89 set for the different dash & controls, etc.
