Can anyone tell me where or how to cover or fill in the door panel "SHO" logos and the bumper one? I see lots of people have them but I'm trying to find out how to do it? I asked a local graphic/vinyl shop and they say they can't do them. I was thinking of getting a paint marker to fill in, would that worK?

Thanks for any help you can give me!:hail:

Are you asking about how to emphasize them (eg. contrasting paint, pin strips, etc...?).
Or are you asking about how to eliminate/cover them to become more stealthy?

I used blue pinstrips on my Blue car to emphasize. I would think if you wanted to make them go away all you got to do is sand/bondo/prime/paint/polish...

If your talking about colering them in I took masfing tape and covered the letters ub and took a razor blade and cut out where the letters were under the masking tape and then used spray paint.

I'm talking about painting them a different color to stand out.

I'm concerned about masking & cutting that I'll cut through the paint & make it look like crap.

Wouldn't the pin striping peel off? How do you get it to stick down into the grooves & stay flat?

not that i can see, but a gen 1 would be easier to do than a gen 2 bumper... just mask over the area, cut out the lettering, get a brush and some pinstripe paint and take your time, or a paint pen.

my gel coat is kinda peeling in the area and the yellowish-goldish color is coming thru. when i repaint i may highlight the SHO on the bumper and the doors with gold.

i want to do gold and green on my intake/valve covers.

I used oil base black paint with q tips ;) it wasn't fun... I was actually hiding mine back to body color I don't like to emphasize it

Just have your local Decal or Vinyl shop make you a set go home and prep it with alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol that is) lay each letter in then press firmly with a damp paper towel so not to scratch them.

Then hit it with a heat gun or hair dryer and press firmly to get the air bubbles out if there are any. If its good vinyl not the cheap crap it will look very nice and will not crack due to sun exposure or cold.

And if you really want it to have that glossy look make a stencil off of the Decal first then tape off the SHO and hit it with couple coats of good clear coat wet sand and your done.

The stripes dont line up perfectly straight when you apply it unless you approach it very meticulously. That's what I was told by others who have used it. How did it turn out for you? Got pics?

i can get the pics up tomorrow.. but yea if you take your time into applying them it will look good . if you clean it off properly they have no problem on sticking on ... i think i have had mine on for about a year now and they still shine have no cracks or really any defects on them. so these are good quality decals no doubt. but i did have to use the paint pen on the sides .. i had a brain fart right after i put them on and took my car to the car wash.. never saw the sides again.. :shakehead but the back ones are still on and looking good!

paint marker is fast and easy. just make sure you do more than two coats if you take it through an automatic car wash.
