hi all,
it's a fact, my car is possessed!
thought i was good to go since i borrowed nick's BP sensor to solve my hesitation issue.
NOT SO!
the thing wouldn't start after it stalled (oscillating idle) in very cold weather.
after the inital stall, it's been fine for a week. noticed the starter didn't crank over with it's usual gusto today. started it 3 times throughout the day today. the last time, the starter barely cranked, and the tach went nuts flying up to 4k rpms. to the point where, i couldn't hear the starter even crank (not sure if i heard the solenoid) and the tach would just FREAK! and some other funky sounds and possibly dash lights freaking. can't remember
let it sit, screamed in frustration to nick chrimes. the last ditch effort, it starts.
lights and dash lights did NOT dim through this whole fiasco. battery is a 2 year old interstate. alternator is original. car has 142k on it.
the red herring may be that i am using a spare dis and coil pack from tyler, when he was troubleshooting the hesitation issue.
YES, i did a search. the tach spazzing usually means a bad ground/terminal. the computer will freak if it does not have enough juice. check the DIS bolts and the ground strap the the intake, right?
when she runs, nothing wierd happens. no bucking. tach doesn't drop out.
any other ideas?
