well been driving my sho daily for who knows how long now, drive it home park it for 2 days. go get in it to start it and starts up for about 5 seconds shuts off. crank it over sounds like no compression just spins will not start.its just a pain in the ass considering i live in an apartment complex, plus i never have any time.

the only thing i could think of is jump timing?

any info would be great.

Fuel pump gone bad? Do you hear it prime when you turn the key to ON?

Three reasons an engine won't fire: fuel, spark, air. Air is unlikely (unless there's suddenly too much of it). I VERY much doubt your engine lost compression. Just to be sure, though, make sure somebody didn't remove your spark plugs. That leaves fuel and spark. Test both.

Turn the key to ON (don't start it) and depress the schraeder valve on the fuel rail. Does fuel shoot up high enough to hit the hood? If so, fuel isn't the issue. Start testing spark plugs; the procedure is all over the place here (or you can google it, spark plugs are spark plugs).

Floor it and crank it for a minute. Sounds just like this if it is flooded.

timing belts tight, even if there was no fuel or no spark it should still sound like compression wouldent it? due to no release of pressure? obviously there are spark plugs in it unless the sho fairy stole em over night'

What does compression sound like?

Is your tach bouncing when you crank it? Have you run your codes?

I just changed the plugs on my V6 one time. Put everything back together and tried to start it. It would spin fast and sound like the starter was not engaging and actually turning the motor over. I thought the starter was bad.

Changed the starter and the same thing. Marked the accessory belt and it was turning the motor over. Floored it and after a minute it started. Cost me over $100 to find out the oil had washed off the cylinder walls and I had lost compression.

Cam sensor will generally cause hard starting. You can normally get it to start after a couple of trys. Crank sensor will cause a no start/no run issue.

If you are looking at the engine from the front of the car, it is on the left side of the engine towards the back up by the cams. It will have a plug connection on it. That is where the cam sensor is.

Oh, and where are you in PA? Maybe I could look at it if you wanted.

Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention and thought you said cam sensor, not crank. My bad.

if you loosen the lower timing cover you can have a peek with a pen light at the arrowed location. If your timing belt STRIPPED you will see the cogs laying under the crank and some might even fall out when you separate the timing cover from the oil pump housing.
