I've figured out why my Gtech stops timing after about 5-6 seconds. The reason is my transmission, which I'm not able to shift fast enough with. This is especially true when going from 1st-2nd. I'm using generic Mobil ATF fluid (I think :p )right now, would switching to another fluid help? Or do I just need better shifting technique. Basically, I slam the clutch in, and quickly move the stick to 2nd, where it sits for a second or two, then pops into gear (there's the problem). Any ideas on how to improve this?

I think you just need to practice more... I know the older SHO's can be a little rough getting into 2nd at times but in my 90 I have it down jsut right.. all I do is tap the clutch to help it in and if you do it right it will feel like one big gear instead of two ( that is the fastest you can shift) or you can show of and chrip 2nd :)

PMD Power, what do you mean show off and chirp the wheels in second. If you car doesn't already chirp in 2nd when racing you must have some problems. All the MTX SHO's I've been in chirp on 2nd. Well not just a chirp, mine is like another take off that makes a squel for like 1 second, unless at the track where there's better traction.

I said that cause chriping 2nd doesn't make you go any faster and people that don;t know about SHO's will be shocked to see it chirp
